Fabio Merlini, viola, organ and harpsichord soloist, has also studied conducting and composition with Bruno Bettinelli.
In 1991 he began a brilliant career with Claudio Scimone with “I Solisti Veneti”, an orchestra that led him to perform as soloist in all the most important concert halls in the world such as Musikvereisaal Wien, Mozarteum Salzburg, Tchaikowsky Hall Moscow, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Lincoln Center New York, Tonhalle Zurich, Paris Opera, La Scala Theater Milan, Osaka Symphony Hall, Buenos Aires Symphony Hall, Chicago Symphony Hall, Megaron Athens, Seoul Arts Center, Singapore Concert Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Caracas Auditorium Carreño, Ermitage St. Petersburg and others.
He has collaborated as harpsichordist and organist with internationally renowned artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Salvatore Accardo, Isaac Stern, Uto Ughi, Jean Pierre Rampal, James Galway, Cecilia Gasdia, Sabine Mayer, Michala Petri, June Anderson, Katia Ricciarelli and Guy Touvron.
He has given master classes in Caracas, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Tokyo and New York.
He has recorded for DECCA, RCA, Warner, Arts, Dynamic, TDK and Tactus.
Concert Manager of the orchestra “I Solisti Veneti”, he is also Artistic Director of “Iberclassica Artists” and Principal Conductor of the orchestra “I Solisti Laudensi”.
Fabio holds the chair of viola at the Conservatorio Superiore “Luigi Boccherini” in Lucca.
