Xiaofeng Wu, recognized as one of the most reputable pianists of his generation, has garnered high acclaim for his piano performances in the US and Europe, as noted by music critics and numerous publications, including ABC, YAHOO, Radio Clasica, Pravda, Politica, OpusMusica, El Mundo, and others. Returning to his motherland, China, he has made notable public appearances at venues such as the Jiangsu Centre of Performing Arts, Hongkong Great Hall, POLY Theatre series, Shanghai Concert Hall, and more.
As both a soloist and pedagogue, Xiaofeng Wu has been invited to participate in various professional events, including the Scriabin Piano Competition (2020), London International Piano Festival (2021), Walled City International Piano Festival, Maccagno Piano Days International Festival (2017, 2018), Xiamen International Piano Festival (2016), Ningbo International Piano Festival (2018), among others. His film recordings of performances are available in the Tido® Piano Masterworks Series released by Edition Peters, London. The Chopin Project® has commissioned him for his recording of Chopin’s substantial repertoire for online streamcast.
Xiaofeng Wu gained international attention for his performance at the Beijing APEC conference attended by leadership from many countries. He is the recipient of the 1st Prize at the 10th Guerrero Foundation International Piano Competition (Madrid), 1st Prize at the Society of American Musicians Piano Competition (Chicago), the Mabel Henderson Memorial Prize, and academically, the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan. Since 2020, Wu has been appointed Artistic Director by the Asian Pianist Association, an organization member of WFIMC.
Founder of The Thames Piano Trio and The Wu Artists Association, Xiaofeng Wu, as a scholar and educator, has seen his students receive numerous national prizes and gain admission with high scholarships into major institutions such as the New England Conservatory, Longy School of Music, Cleveland Institutes, Royal Conservatory, and Shanghai Conservatory, among others. He actively introduces Urtext edition publishers such as Wien (universal), Henle, and Peters. His concert reviews commissioned for Maestro Yin, Chengzong, Mischa Maisky, Cyprien Katsaris, and many others have been collected in various magazines and press.
Currently, Xiaofeng Wu serves as an elite piano faculty member at Pädagogische Universität Nanjing, School of Music.
